DALLAS -- Dallas
County sheriff's deputies were able to
capture a man who threatened suicide
after escaping their custody Friday
afternoon, NBC 5 reported.
Video: Deputies Capture Escapee Threatening Suicide Deputies said after they arrested the man on outstanding warrants, he kicked out the window of a deputy's cruiser and ran away. The escapee made it to Industrial Boulevard over Interstate 30, and threatened to jump, authorities said. The deputies said they kept him talking until they saw their chance. "He looked down for some reason, and the deputies took that as an opportunity to grab him when he wasn't paying attention," said Michael Ortiz of the Dallas County Sheriff's Department. Deputies said they discovered the man's outstanding warrants when he didn't return a company vehicle after he was fired. |
